On the afternoon of 15 November 2018, Zhengzhou College of Finance and Economics (ZCFE) welcomed representatives of the Malaysia Study Abroad Service Center, the UK-based IBA Association and Cambridge Education Group. The delegation included Liu Guoqing, Ewan and Simon Zhang. They met with Chairman Niu Qinmin; President Yu Xiangying; Li Guoqiang, Secretary of the ZCFE Party Committee; and Wang Yanzhen, Director of the International Office.

Exploring Opportunities for Cooperation

President Yu Xiangying welcomed the delegation and introduced ZCFE’s educational philosophy, institutional strengths and international cooperation activities.

The visitors outlined study opportunities and programme structures in Malaysia and the United Kingdom, including master’s and doctoral study options and 3+1 pathways. Participants discussed potential cooperation in faculty exchanges, overseas study programmes and reciprocal institutional visits.

Chairman Niu Qinmin emphasised the importance of international engagement to ZCFE’s development. He expressed interest in drawing on international educational expertise and resources to develop practical proposals for future collaboration.

Following the meeting, university leaders accompanied the delegation on a tour of the library and the 2018 Summer International Exchange Exhibition. The visitors commended ZCFE’s educational approach, international engagement and financial support for faculty members and students pursuing overseas study.

Sharing Advice with Students

The delegation also visited the campus English Corner and classes preparing students for overseas study. During discussions with students, the visitors offered advice on adjusting to life and study in the United Kingdom, choosing universities and degree programmes, and developing effective English-learning habits. They also shared suggestions for improving spoken English. The visit provided an opportunity to explore potential cooperation and give students practical guidance on preparing for studying abroad.
