On 3 November 2017, Gay Foley, International Director of St Dominic’s College in Auckland, New Zealand, visited ZCFE.

She was welcomed by Niu Qinmin, Chairman of the Board; Li Zan, Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection; and Wang Yanzhen, Assistant Chairman and Director of the Foreign Affairs Office. During her visit, Ms Foley viewed a photographic exhibition documenting the first study tour to New Zealand by ZCFE faculty members and students. She also signed the guest book.

 Teaching Exchange with Faculty

Ms Foley joined English-language teachers from the School of Culture and Communication for a professional exchange. She shared her background and discussed Māori culture alongside aspects of daily life and customs in New Zealand. She also discussed similarities and differences between education in China and New Zealand and introduced the educational approach of St Dominic’s College. Responding to teachers’ questions, Ms Foley offered practical classroom suggestions and demonstrated interactive teaching methods, including role-playing activities.

 Discussion with IELTS Students

Ms Foley then visited an IELTS preparation class, where students asked questions about New Zealand’s education system and studying abroad. She responded to their questions in detail and presented them with small gifts reflecting New Zealand’s cultural traditions.

Campus Tour

 Accompanied by ZCFE leaders, Ms Foley toured the library and other campus facilities to learn more about the college’s teaching resources and learning environment.
