On the morning of 2 November 2017, Cai Ming, a China-based representative of the University of California, Irvine (UCI), visited ZCFE. He met with senior university leaders, including Chairman Niu Qinmin, Executive Vice-President Li Qingyang and Wang Yanzhen, as well as academic leaders from several schools. He also took part in a question-and-answer session with students in ZCFE’s IELTS preparation class.

 Discussion on International Cooperation

During the meeting, Mr Cai introduced UCI’s academic programmes, educational approach, laboratory facilities, international rankings and graduate employment outcomes. He also discussed postgraduate study abroad and short-term summer study and exchange opportunities for faculty members and students at US universities.

Chairman Niu Qinmin outlined ZCFE’s plans to strengthen international engagement and expand overseas training opportunities for faculty members and students. He emphasised the role of international exchange in supporting improvements in teaching and academic development.

 Tour of Campus Facilities

Following the meeting, Mr Cai toured the university’s business incubation park and library. He commended ZCFE’s support for student entrepreneurship and career development, as well as its library collections.

 Advice for Students Preparing to Study Abroad

Mr Cai then met with students in the IELTS preparation class. Students asked about choosing universities and degree programmes and preparing for overseas study.

Drawing on his professional knowledge and personal experience, he offered detailed responses and practical guidance.

The visit provided an opportunity to discuss potential international education activities and offer students guidance on further study abroad.
