Six members of the university’s first overseas study cohort have earned doctoral degrees from universities in the United Kingdom and Malaysia, marking an important milestone in its international education program and efforts to develop highly qualified professionals with international experience.

Dr. Huanhuan Chen 

Dr. Yunfei Wang

In May 2024, Huanhuan Chen and Yunfei Wang graduated with PhDs in Economics from Swansea University in the United Kingdom and attended the university’s graduation ceremony. Both had previously completed master’s degrees at Swansea before continuing their doctoral studies.

Dr. Ming Zhang 

Dr. Xinxu Zhao

Ming Zhang and Xinxu Zhao earned PhDs in Economics from Taylor’s University in Malaysia.

Dr. Haiyang Hu

Haiyang Hu earned a PhD in Management from SEGi University in Malaysia.

Dr. Sa Li

Sa Li undertook her doctoral studies at Universiti Putra Malaysia from October 2020 to March 2025 and has been awarded her doctoral degree. All six graduates belong to the university’s first fully funded overseas study cohort. With financial support from the university, they completed their master’s and doctoral studies at institutions in the United Kingdom and Malaysia. Four additional doctoral students from the same cohort are expected to complete their studies and return to join the university’s faculty within the next two years. These achievements highlight the progress of the university’s overseas study program in supporting advanced academic training and strengthening its internationally educated faculty.
