On 8 October 2024, Professor John M. Veitch, Dean of the School of Business and Management at Notre Dame de Namur University, delivered a special lecture to students at Zhengzhou College of Finance and Economics (ZCFE). The lecture explored the development of Silicon Valley and approaches to preparing future leaders for the technology sector.

About Professor John M. Veitch

Professor Veitch holds a PhD in economics from Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree in economics and mathematics from the University of Toronto. A CFA charterholder, he has taught at the University of California, Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, the University of Southern California and the University of San Francisco. His academic experience spans finance and economics.

Lecture Highlights

In his lecture, Shaping the Future Silicon Valley Elite: Developing Leaders for Tech Industries, Professor Veitch discussed Silicon Valley’s development and approaches to preparing highly skilled professionals for the technology sector. Drawing on examples from leading technology companies and his experience in finance and business education, he offered students an international perspective on leadership and professional development.
