On the morning of 12 March 2021, Zhengzhou College of Finance and Economics (ZCFE) welcomed a delegation for discussions on potential collaborative education programmes. The delegation included Liu Jiantang, Director of the APTIS Henan Examination Centre; Angelica Yang, Asia-Pacific Director of Italy’s CEPU Education Group; and Tracey Zhou, CEPU’s Central China Manager
The meeting took place in the fifth-floor conference room of Building D. Representing ZCFE were Vice-President Wang Yanzhen; Xing Liping, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages; Associate Dean Huang Xuejuan; and Wang Zhenyu, Deputy Director of the International Exchange Office. Xing Liping chaired the meeting.
Exploring Areas of Cooperation
Vice-President Wang Yanzhen welcomed the delegation and outlined the university’s history, academic strengths, international engagement and progress on its new campus. Referring to the university’s undergraduate teaching assessment, she emphasised the importance of international engagement to institutional development. She also noted that pandemic-related constraints required further discussion of suitable cooperation arrangements.
Potential areas of collaboration included curriculum development, faculty recruitment and training, summer and winter programmes, and short-term student exchanges.
Liu Jiantang praised ZCFE’s efforts to support further study for faculty members and overseas study opportunities for students. He expressed interest in exploring broader cooperation with institutional support.
Introduction to Proposed Programmes
Angelica Yang introduced CEPU Education Group and outlined its activities in education and professional training. Her presentation covered programme areas including political science, business management, performing arts and aviation. She highlighted similarities between the two organisations’ educational approaches and expressed hope that these could lead to practical collaborative projects.
Tracey Zhou then outlined the proposed programmes, including their background, entry requirements and available fields of study. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange information and identify potential areas for further discussion on academic cooperation and student mobility.
