On 22 December 2018, ZCFE signed a cooperation agreement with UUNZ Institute of Business, New Zealand. During the visit, Professor Jin Ming Chen, President of UUNZ Institute of Business, was also appointed an honorary professor at the college. 

Chairman Niu Qinmin, President Yu Xiangying, Party Secretary Li Guoqiang and Executive Vice-President Li Qingyang welcomed Professor Chen and his delegation to the administration building.

 President Yu Xiangying extended a warm welcome and introduced the college’s development, with particular emphasis on its international initiatives. 

The two sides agreed on areas of cooperation, including academic collaboration, visits by senior institutional leaders, doctoral study opportunities for faculty members, overseas study opportunities for students, and summer exchange programmes. 

Professor Chen provided an overview of UUNZ Institute of Business and its training initiatives. He explained that the institute had established a training division to develop professionals with practical skills and support China–New Zealand cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. Areas of training included aviation, early childhood education, international call centre operations and English language qualifications.

 Professor Chen also offered suggestions for strengthening the international engagement of application-oriented universities in China and expressed his commitment to supporting future cooperation between the two institutions. 

Following the signing ceremony, Chairman Niu Qinmin presented Professor Chen with a letter confirming his appointment as an honorary professor. 

The agreement builds on earlier exchanges between the two institutions. During holiday periods in 2017 and 2018, more than 120 faculty members and students from Zhengzhou College of Finance and Economics participated in two-week exchange programmes at UUNZ in two groups. These visits laid the foundation for further collaboration.

 The partnership is intended to broaden international opportunities for faculty and students, enhance educational quality, and support the college’s development as a high-quality, application-oriented undergraduate institution with a distinctive educational profile.
